West Seattle Tool Library

WS Tool Library

Sustainable West Seattle is a terrific local resource with a simple goal of bringing together community and sustainability.  One of their greatest successes to date is the creation of the West Seattle Tool Library.

Just as a regular library loans out books for free, the Tool Library lends out tools for free!

Now you don’t need to own every tool necessary for every home project.

The Tool Library currently has over 1,500 tools to loan. Access the online inventory here to see what is available. You can also download a PDF of the tool use policy here.

Although borrowers are asked to fill out a membership application and liability waiver, no fees are required. Donations are encouraged and appreciated, of course, as a means of growing and sustaining the library.

The Tool Library is housed in the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center at 4408 Delridge Way SW in West Seattle. Run by volunteers, current hours of operation are limited to: Thursdays, 6P-9P; Saturdays, 9A-2P, and; Sundays, 1P-5P.

The Tool Library also hosts low and no-cost workshop events on a variety of home project topics.

You can contact the organizers at library@sustainablewestseattle.org or (206) 317-4671.

Sustainable West Seattle provides other resources and events that are worth checking out as well.
