Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices replaces blue-white with cabernet-cream

On October 30, 2012 HomeServices of America, Inc. announced that it purchased a majority interest in the affiliate networks of Prudential Real Estate, forming HSF Affiliates LLC. HSF Affiliates will operate the existing franchise networks and will launch Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, a new real estate franchise brand, in the third quarter of 2013. HomeServices and Brookfield Asset Management have joint ownership of HSF Affiliates, with HomeServices having a majority share. Berkshire Hathaway is owned by Warren Buffett. Ron Peltier, CEO of HomeServices of America is the primary spokesman for the new brand.
As Prudential Real Estate prepares to morph into Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, those of us in the ranks are getting anxious to incorporate the new logo and colors for our marketing materials. Here’s a peek at the new logo as it will appear on the back of our business cards:

Cabernet and cream will replace Prudential’s trademark colors of blue and white, a change that I personally will welcome.

Aside from the cosmetic changes, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices promises to be a major player in the resurgence of the housing market in the United States. Exactly how this will manifest is still somewhat unclear to those of us at the bottom of the ladder, but our excitement is building and the anticipation is invigorating!

What do you think of the new name? Are you already familiar with the Berkshire Hathaway name? What associations does it have for you? Were you already aware of Berkshire Hathaway’s connection to Warren Buffett?

I’d love to hear your thoughts.
